DRIVE-IN RACKING SYSTEM

Drive-in racking is a type of warehouse equipment with a high storage density. This name comes from the technology of goods loading. There is no space between the beams on which the pallets are placed, the beams are rigidly fixed to each other. Therefore, when loading, the loader drives inside the rack and gradually fills it with palletized goods.

This type of racking is suitable for long-term storage of large amounts of goods of the same type. Most often, it is seasonal stocks, large wholesale lots, products in the warehouses of finished products, awaiting shipment to the consumer.

Drive-in racking allows you to store a variety of goods. These can be foods with a long shelf life, such as canned food, cereals or pasta. Industrial goods, equipment, pharmaceutical products, building materials, etc.

Due to their design, the use of deep shelving is limited to long-term storage warehouses. It is not possible to use them as retail shelving. But they can be easily reoriented for different types of goods, and are an excellent solution when you need to place the maximum amount of goods in a limited space.

Design

Drive-in racks are a rigid frame structure assembled from uprights connected at the top with horizontal beams, inside of which pallets with goods are placed on horizontal rails. The width of the frames is determined by the overall dimensions of the goods and the number of pallet positions.

It is recommended to additionally equip the racks with protection elements, limiters and cradle trays.

Racking frames are chosen based on the customer's requirements for the design, due to the quantity, overall dimensions and weight of the goods. The total weight of goods on the pallet must not exceed 15,000 kg per frame.

During exploitation you can choose LIFO «Last In, First Out» or FIFO «First In, First Out» principle of goods storage.

The main advantage of using drive-in racks is the ability to place the maximum amount of goods in a minimum area. The utilization rate of the warehouse area can be increased up to 90%.

The design is simple and reliable and, subject to the rules of operation, will last for many years. The main scope of drive-in racks is logistics centers, warehouses for finished products, large wholesale depots, where seasonal products are accumulated, access to goods is not required for a long time, and where large amount of goods of the same type are stored, packed on pallets.
